Hi, I am Eloise.
I am a South African artist and my work reflects the many layers of identity, emotion, and experience.
My art is not one voice—it is many.
After transitioning from a career in food science, where everything was precise, measured and defined, I found freedom in creating without rules – expressive and constantly evolving.
Each artwork reflects a different emotional state, a different part of my identity and journey. Some pieces are soft and quiet. Others are layered, textured, and intense. Together, they form a visual language that speaks to change, growth, and the complexity of being human
I paint intuitively, allowing each artwork to become what it needs to be rather than forcing it.
I`ve always felt deeply connected to the quiet beauty of the natural world. I often collect discarded pieces from beaches, roadside, and forgotten places, drawn to their unique textures and patterns. I use these found materials to create expressive mark-making in my artwork, allowing each piece to leave behind its own history and character. Reusing and recycling what would otherwise be polluting this beautiful planet. This has become part of my creative process.
